How We Get the Food

In the Beginning:  Humans would always hunter and/or gather food. For the gathers they would look for berries and other plants for a source of food but that isn't the only source of food we eat. That's when the hunters do their job. The way the hunter gathered their food was by hunting in groups, killing the animal as quickly as they can, without making the animal suffer. As we go through time we continue to see this technique working. There is still a group that gathers fruits and vegetables and then there is another group that hunts. Both of this groups do provide food but one of them has  passed the line.

Present:  As we continued to move through time, we continue to see our population growing which means we have to provide more food. Ether we grow more food or we increase the number of slaughter in the world. According to the video "Earthlings" directed and produced by a animal, human and environmental rights activist, Shanun Monson. It claimed that every year more animals are being slaughter then the year before.  Not only that but the people in the slaughter houses have an enjoyment towards killing this animals and making them suffer. Life is literally drain from the animals in the slaughter house. Basically the human will choose how they will die, when will they die and where will they die. In addition the way they fed the animals is unimaginable.  According to the article, Meat Production Wastes Natural from the Peta.org, it says "It takes up to 13 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of meat, and even fish on fish farms must be fed up to 5 pounds of wild-caught fish to produce 1 pound of farmed fish flesh." Can you imagine how much grain we have to produce to feed all the animals just so we can feed our nation.  Only 70% of the grain that we grow go to these animals. Not only that but some animals are eating other animals around them because not all the animals are fed enough. I know killing animals isn't a pretty site but if you click on the link below(in blue) it will show you a video on how inhuman we treat this animals. We can not make them suffer no more because they are also living things. Animals who understand and feel everything that is happening to them.

The 5 Big Questions

         The topic that I choose is animal abuse. The reason why I choose this topic was because I am a person you likes animals. During the recent events I have seen on the news police killing innocent dogs, how different country's make other animals suffer just so they can satisfy themselves, and and I have seen the suffering for this animals. It all started in September. I have token a class at Roaring Fork High School in Carbondale, CO and we started to talk about the environment and the living things around us. After having discussions and watching videos, I realized that we have been living with no worries while innocent animals have been ripped out of their skin or grind up alive. Why do we continue this?

 

• Why are animals being so abused to help satisfy our needs?

• Is there a kinder way to feed our nation?

• What can the government do to decrease the animal curate?

• Do other countries do a better job to feed their nation?

• Are there any solution on the horizon?
